Responsibilities

Prepare payment vouchers, cash receipt vouchers, procard log and other covering documents affecting transfer of funds.  Check for correctness and completeness of invoices and statements.  Work with museum staff to search for vendors, solicit bids and create purchase orders for work at the museum.  Purchase office supplies and needed cleaning supplies for the museum.  (50%)
Assist museum staff with group tours and special guests visiting the museum along with special functions at the museum.  Correspond with patrons requesting information concerning Sam Rayburn and other related subjects. (50%)

Required

High school diploma or GED
At least 3 years of clerical experience with a high school diploma/GED, or at least 1 year of clerical experience at the Administrative Assistant level with a Bachelor's degree
Direct experience as the in-person, first point of contact, with internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and in writing
Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail and resourcefulness
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks/projects, to work under pressure, and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy
Outstanding data entry and problem-solving skills
Commitment to great customer service
Familiarity with Excel and Microsoft Office suite
Friendly demeanor and positive attitude

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in business or other relevant degree program
Working knowledge of University of Texas financial and administrative systems including *DEFINE, Point Plus, FRMS, CCART, Request Form System, UT Box, UT Market, etc
More than the required number of years of experience
Experience working in higher education within a service-oriented unit

Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
