Responsibilities
Oversees building inspections, plan review, permit processing, code compliance, and code enforcement activities to ensure construction and development are safe, efficient, and compliant with Federal, State, and local regulations
Provides strategic direction, develops and implements policies and service standards, manages the division’s budget, and leads professional and technical staff
Serves as a technical resource to developers, contractors, property owners, and community stakeholders
Represents the City in code-related disputes and public forums
Prepares complex staff reports
Plays a critical role in emergency response and post-disaster evaluations under the City’s Emergency Operations Plan
Qualification
Required
Strong technical expertise in building regulations
Demonstrated experience in code enforcement operations
Ability to oversee building inspections, plan review, permit processing, code compliance, and code enforcement activities
Experience in providing strategic direction and developing and implementing policies and service standards
Ability to manage the division's budget
Experience in leading professional and technical staff
Ability to serve as a technical resource to developers, contractors, property owners, and community stakeholders
Experience in representing the City in code-related disputes and public forums
Ability to prepare complex staff reports
Experience in emergency response and post-disaster evaluations under the City's Emergency Operations Plan
Strong communication skills
