Director of Global Procurement
Fives North American Combustion, Inc. is seeking a permanent, full-time Director of Global Procurement to join their Cleveland, OH team. Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of the company’s outsourcing strategy. Must be familiar with make or buy analysis and drive derived strategy forward
Able to develop new suppliers and negotiate with them the supply of products for industrial production of combustion equipment
Create and implement negotiation planning templates and best practices to support consistent, high-quality negotiation execution across sourcing projects
Drive stakeholder engagement throughout the sourcing lifecycle, ensuring alignment of business needs, transparency of process, and adoption of sourcing outcomes
Establish and track sourcing performance metrics especially on savings, reduction in lead time, reduction in inventory etc
Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, safety, engineering, legal, finance, operations to ensure sourcing strategies align with enterprise goals and risk management practices
As the senior leader support the operational buying department (reporting through plant operations) in case of difficulties (nonconformities, price discrepancies, etc. with established suppliers
Implement world-class strategic sourcing processes to optimize procurement operations
Plan and execute negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers
Conduct financial analysis to support sourcing decisions and identify total cost of ownership reduction opportunities
Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and capabilities
Provide strong leadership and guidance to team members, including those not directly reporting to this position, to ensure high performance and collaboration
Participate in the development of the goals and objectives of the company
Work with business partners to identify and drive the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) process improvements for cost reductions. Familiarity with Procurement Engineering and Value Engineering concepts required
Partner with all other business groups pertaining to sourcing and procurement including, but not limited to, Quality, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Purchasing and Logistics
Provide regular project status information to team members, including attending required meetings and follow up on open action items
Identify and manage performance improvement dependencies and critical path concerns
Assist in establishing the rules and methods of assessing existing supplier performance and the selection criteria for new supply chain partners
Lead contract negotiations with suppliers in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, provide interpretation and analysis of contract documentation and review requests for revisions that involve technical specifications, costs and/or schedule impacts that mitigate risks to the company
Qualification
Required
10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, category management
Experience with sourcing from a global supply chain
Experience in sourcing sand/investment castings, machining of castings and fabrication & welding of both carbon steel and stainless steel materials
Familiar with sourcing of buy out items (like electronic components, motors, gauges, sheet metal, MRO components etc.)
Strong track record of developing existing and new global supply chain partners including process documentation
Strong knowledge of problem solving and process improvement methodologies
Experience developing project timelines including all required tasks including identifying critical path tasks
Leading a cross functional team to develop a new supplier
Ability to communicate and interact with personnel at all levels of the company and all external stakeholders
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution
