Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance to HVAC systems and controls, electrical delivery systems and stand-by generators
Make repairs to County buildings and infrastructure (i.e. electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall and door/window locks)
Coordinate with contracted services for installations and major repairs
Be available for on-call response and management of facilities issues as part of an on-call schedule
Respond to inclement weather conditions that may affect County facilities and operations as well as community emergency response, Red Cross assistance and Emergency Services support during declared state of emergency operations
Qualification
Required
Graduation from High School or General Educational Development (GED) test equivalency
Five (5) years of in maintenance and/or renovations/repairs including the four building trades
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
All offers of employment are conditioned upon successful clearance of a background check, Fitness-for-Duty assessment and pre-employment drug testing
Preferred
Possession of NC Standard Level I Trade Certifications in Building, Electrical, Mechanical and/or Plumbing, HVAC and/or Heating/Air certification
May be required to obtain specific technical certifications, as deemed necessary by supervisor
