Audio Visual Technology Specialist (FT On-Site)

They are seeking an Audio Visual Technology Specialist responsible for supporting the lifecycle of audio/visual equipment in various workspaces, particularly for TEAMS rooms and meeting spaces.

Responsibilities
Support asset management strategy, life-cycle planning and new TEAMS rooms requests with collaboration from various TO departments and Facilities
Coordinate In-room support, troubleshooting and maintenance of AV equipment, including but not limited to:
Projectors Monitors/screens
Videoconference/audio/control systems
Touch panels
Remote controls
AV cables and cable boxes
Document cameras
Proactively provide consulting that includes audio/video needs assessments, potential solutions, and budget management
Partner with the business and other TO departments for urgent incident and general problem resolution
Review and provide feedback on competitive bids by vendors for A/V projects, including construction drawings, scope documents, and technical prints
Provide specialized dedicated technical support as requested by business partners
Coordinate Inspection of all conference and meeting rooms to ensure the standard A/V equipment assigned to specific locations is in good working order
Proactively identify opportunities to educate business partners on leveraging the use of technology more effectively
Provide small project management, planning, coordination, and/or technical support during project implementations
Support update of A/V and videoconference guidelines and standards
Build effective relationships with key business partners and provide outstanding customer service
Partner with fellow Facilities teammates, TO End User Analysts, TO Support teams and vendors to form a strong, dedicated support team
Consult with business partners to ensure an understanding of facilities construction and TO services costs (for budgeting and billing purposes)
Partner with other personnel to provide support (including after-hours as needed) for storm-related and critical 24/7 business operations
Become aware of and stay abreast of emerging hardware and software technologies
Qualification
Required
High school degree required, two-year degree preferred
Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting experience of commercial audio/visual equipment preferred
Working knowledge of hardware and software associated with audio/visual equipment used at Southern Company
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with business partners, vendors and other organizations
Customer service-focused with the ability to deliver on commitments and deadlines
Ability to manage small, local projects using proven concepts to apply technology to business problems
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to read technical prints and construction drawings in order to ensure successful project execution
Proficient technical knowledge of office computing environments including Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and infrastructure as well as their interaction and relevance in solving business problems
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of existing and emerging audio/video technologies
