Hourly Pooled - Research Assistant - Flash Pyrolysis
The University of Wyoming is committed to creating a supportive and enriching workplace. This position exists to support the research of SER’s Center for Carbon Capture and Conversion (CCCC) on novel, sustainable ways to convert coal to other materials, involving tasks such as operating a flash pyrolysis reactor and analyzing products.

Responsibilities
Grinding and sieving coal to prepare samples
Operating flash pyrolysis reactor
Cleaning reactor after runs
Replacing and fixing components on various equipment
Testing and analyzing flash pyrolysis products (all under the supervision of a research scientist)
Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment
Assist with laboratory testing as required
Qualification
Required
Current UW student in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related natural science or engineering discipline
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred
Basic exposure to a laboratory setting
Problem solving capabilities
Works well independently and in team environments
