Finance Manager

Responsibilities

Follow our Code of Conduct and demonstrate consistently our Values
Work toward meeting the program's strategic priorities by developing and coordinating tactics for approved plans and completing day-to-day tasks
Prepare financial reports for donors
Coordination overall finances of initiatives in coordination with project managers and workstream leads
Generate and analyze monthly financial reports and data from the general ledger
Prepare ad hoc financial reports, such as: Labor Distribution Reports and Monthly contract reports
Track spending rates
Ensure proper coding of expenses and that invoices are submitted and paid
Review financial reports of award sub-grantees, when necessary
Prepare and deliver quarterly financial results
Coordination the project's forecast database and financial modeling
Prepare long-term financial sustainability analysis, identifying funding needs and gaps (primarily on FTEs)
Coordination, in coordination with in-region peers, the FTEs database and track projected allocation of the team across multiple sources of funds
Actively participate in grant proposals, including renewals and budget preparation
Prepare accounting forms and reports, such as: Journal entries and Cash receipt recordings
Adjustments, including payment of invoices and review of expense reports
Support contract/grant management processes for private funding and ensure compliance with TNC policies and procedures
Reinforce consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provide support related to the relevant field
Participate in complex negotiations and assist in internal audits
Handle confidential payroll information of staff
Collaborate with finance peers in other geographies, particularly Latin America
Mentor other finance staff working on the project, when necessary
Contribute annual and multi-year budget planning per organizational guidelines
Be available for occasional travel and flexible working hours
This is a 12-month position that may end sooner based on team needs

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field and four years of related experience or equivalent combination
Experience with relational databases and creating/managing moderate to complex Excel spreadsheets, workbooks, and financial models
Technical experience with general accounting practices and grants/award accounting issues
Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems and preparing customized reports
Experience with regulations related to grants and contracts
Experience with PowerPoint presentations to give cross-functional team financial presentations about the project
Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple organizational levels
Proficiency in working independently and jointly with colleagues on a team
Experience in full-cost budgeting
Fluency in Portuguese

Preferred

Non-profit accounting experience preferred
Verbal and written communication skills
Ease relating to diverse clients
Analytical and quantitative skills
Experience in manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Interpersonal skills and experience building effective relationships at all organizational levels
