The Louisiana Department Of Transportation and Development is seeking a Surveyor Intern to perform Land Surveying work in District 08. The role involves managing courthouse records for boundary surveys, assisting with right of way determinations, and conducting fieldwork under supervision.

Responsibilities

Manages and coordinates the research of courthouse records for deeds, servitudes, government land office plats, and other recorded documents necessary to perform boundary surveys for project
Provides assistance to other sections in the district concerning surveying; determines right of way limits, helps with disposal of excess right of way, performs drainage surveys, and performs assistance to the levee districts
May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities
Receives job assignments from a Surveyor Supervisor and determines the best method to conduct the survey, and with the help of the crew, performs the fieldwork
Request and order supplies and equipment for the survey department
