NetSource, Inc. is seeking a Fiber/Telecom Engineer to document and manage fiber optic network assets for both inside and outside plant networks. The role involves editing and modifying network data, researching project objectives, and validating network designs using industry-related software.

Responsibilities

Document, edit, and modify records of fiber optic network assets for inside plant and outside plant operations using fiber optic network software
Research and analyze network orders, diagrams, fiber optic routes, and customer databases to verify and validate fiber optic network asset records
Evaluate fiber optic design issues by studying project concepts, objectives, priorities, and requirements
Gather, review, and interpret various data sources for comparison and validation of fiber optic networks
Validate design drawings by identifying, isolating, and resolving performance problems related to data entry in fiber optic network software
Use industry-related software, including MapInfo, AutoCAD (not required), Visio, Google Earth/Maps, and MS Office
Research and validate building addresses and coordinates using Google Earth/Maps to ensure proper location and create building footprints in fiber optic network software
Understand databases, queries, spreadsheets, and schematic drawings
Knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD is a plus but not required

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field or engineering
3 to 5 years of telecommunication industry experience related to either inside or outside plant operations

Analytical interpretation of fiber data
Understanding of specification drawings of fiber optics
MapInfo
Visio
MS Office
Excellent communication skills
Problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Technical understanding
Follow processes & procedures
Manage multiple projects
Ability to work in a changing environment

Preferred

AutoCAD (a plus but not required)
