Responsibilities

Provide legal counsel on a wide range of issues, including contracts, procurement, public works, administrative law, and regulatory compliance

Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, agreements, and legal documents

Represent the department in administrative hearings, negotiations, and other legal proceedings

Conduct legal research and prepare formal opinions, memoranda, and guidance for internal and external stakeholders

Advise executive leadership on high‑impact legal and policy matters

Collaborate with program staff to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and policies

Required

Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California

Experience in public sector law, procurement, contracts, administrative hearings, or related areas is highly desirable
