Business Development Lead

Kombo is building the infrastructure layer for hire-to-retire employee data, and they are seeking a Business Development Lead to build and scale a world-class outbound organization. In this pivotal role, you will own outbound pipeline generation, lead a high-performing BDR team, and drive growth across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

Own the global outbound pipeline across all regions (U.S., Europe, etc.) and segments (SMB → Enterprise)
Translate revenue and pipeline targets into:
Per-rep goals
Conversion and meeting benchmarks
Capacity planning
Ensure pipeline quality and strong downstream conversion
Align incentives with pipeline outcomes
Own BDR hiring end-to-end
Scale the team from 5 to 15+ high-performing BDRs
Design and continuously improve onboarding and ramp plans
Decide when to scale headcount vs. improve efficiency through coaching, process, or tooling
Define clear expectations and career progression paths
Lead onboarding and ramp for new hires
Run performance management with clear expectations and direct feedback
Coach BDRs on:
Outbound messaging and positioning
Account prioritization
Meeting quality and qualification
Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, learning, and continuous improvement
Educate senior leadership on market trends and GTM insights
Translate company strategy into execution across the outbound team
Build and maintain outbound playbooks and messaging frameworks
Design scalable systems that reduce reliance on individual heroics
Outbound pipeline attainment

Required

Proven experience leading and scaling outbound or BDR teams in B2B SaaS (U.S. experience required)

Clear, direct communicator who aligns teams and leadership
Comfortable owning outcomes in a high-expectation, high-autonomy environment
