Senior Manager, Tax Compliance & Strategy
Santa Barbara Management is a family office focused on serving ultra-high net worth individuals and their families. The Senior Manager will lead tax planning and compliance efforts, providing strategic tax solutions and managing client relationships.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage all tax planning, research, and compliance for a complex high-net-worth family structure, including individual, partnership (complex flow-through), estate, foundations, and trusts
Provide strategic tax planning, including estate planning, next-generation wealth transfer, risk assessments, acquisitions/dispositions, and financing asset purchases
Review of complex tax returns prepared by outside CPA firm ensuring accuracy and compliance
Manage quarterly tax projections and tax compliance requirements
Collaborate closely with internal teams and external advisors to optimize tax strategies and planning
Participate in special projects related to family wealth management and estate transitions
Engage directly with high-net-worth clients, delivering insights and recommendations in a professional and client-centric manner
Qualification
Required
5+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a lean, fast-moving environment
A desire to work in a performance oriented meritocracy that rewards entrepreneurial thinking, high quality work product, and that embraces a low-ego 'roll-up-your sleeves, no task is too small' mentality
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent project management and time management skills
Tax research skills
Preferred
Masters of Taxation
CPA, JD, or EA
