Director of Housing Programs

The Salvation Army is hiring for the position of Director of Housing Programs, responsible for overseeing multiple housing programs in Pottstown. This role involves providing leadership, managing staff, and ensuring quality service provision to residents and program participants.

Responsibilities

Provide oversight and direction for all housing programs in Pottstown including the Lessig-Booth Family Residence, Permanent Supportive Housing, Pathway of Hope, Pottstown Works job readiness program, and Code Blue shelter operations
Provide direct supervision and case management support for the Family Residence Housing Resource Manager, Permanent Supportive Housing Resource Manager, Pathway of Hope Case Manager, Shelter Coordinator, and Pottstown Works Coordinator
Responsible for all staffing matters with regards to the housing programs, which includes the hiring and the supervision of up to 12 employees and that all state and army requirements for training are maintained for each employee and volunteer
Work in collaboration with the Corps Commanding Officers to maintain and enhance relationships with current and potential funding streams
Ensure that The Salvation Army plays an active role in county initiatives and collaboration aimed at improving human services
Supervise the Shelter Coordinator who will ensure the systems are working properly and efficiently to best serve the staff and residents

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work (or related field), and/or 10 years of progressive work experience in social work
A minimum of 3 years' experience in supervising others
A minimum of 3 years' experience in fund raising and community outreach
A minimum of 3 years' experience in case management
Must be a self-starter and have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check along with renewals every five years
Must have an understanding of and support the Mission of The Salvation Army
