Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements including journal entries, issue resolution, and review with internal stakeholders
Collect input and adjustments from key stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly close and forecasts
Create and document monthly account reconciliations, variance analysis, and flux analysis
Lead internal and external audit processes for designated business units
Serve as the primary financial point of contact for operations teams to answer questions and resolve issues
Evaluate existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement
Present financial results to business unit leaders in management meetings
Support financial system upgrades and implementation of new systems through testing and validation
Collaborate cross-functionally within finance and other departments to support timely filings and company growth
Perform additional monthly accounting tasks as needed
Participate in company initiatives focused on community involvement and safety
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Master's degree in Accounting
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to build effective working relationships across departments
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred
CPA certification
Experience in utility accounting
