Senior Vessel Designer

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design and engineering of pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and storage tanks specific to gas lift equipment, ESP housings, surface separation vessels, etc
Conduct detailed engineering analysis and calculations, including mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis, stress analysis (using FEA software), and life assessments to ensure vessel integrity and safety under various operating conditions
Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international codes and standards, particularly ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Sections VIII (Div 1 & 2), API standards (API 650/620), and NBIC regulations
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, data sheets, and documentation. Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, and design modifications
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, and field operations, to ensure design intent is met, improve constructability, and resolve technical issues

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential
A minimum of 7-10 years of industrial experience in pressure vessel design
Deep knowledge of ASME, API, and other industry codes and standards
Proficiency in pressure vessel design software (e.g., PVElite, CodeCalc, COMPRESS) and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Experience with engineering analysis tools like ANSYS for structural or finite element analysis
Strong understanding of material properties and selection for various operating environments, including high temperature/corrosion

Preferred

Master's degree often preferred
Experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or refining industries
