Responsibilities
Evaluating tax returns and tax return information identified by the Modernized Integrated Tax System (MITS) Fraud Manager and OTR Functions
Recommending appropriate action i.e. release refund or referral to appropriate function
Accessing and researching various applications, authentication tools, fraud detections databases and other sources available to verify the information on a questionable return
Reviewing correspondence for identity and return verification
Contacting third parties to verify information prep
Preparing reports on findings that can be shared with management
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Three (3) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as analyzing complex tax returns or financial documents for compliance with applicable tax laws
Recommending actions against tax or financial accounts and referring potential fraud violations for investigation
Resolving tax or financial problems
Communicating both orally and in writing to customers and/or their representatives
