Manufacturing Technician, Electric Propulsion System

The Electric Propulsion System Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for assembling components for the Midnight aircraft, ensuring high quality standards and troubleshooting issues during assembly and testing processes.

Responsibilities
Assemble and test custom mechanisms
Assemble the engine, integrated tilt mechanism, and propeller system
Work closely with the engineering teams to support process validation
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues
Debug issues during assembly and test processes
Ensure all quality standards are followed to ensure safety of aircraft
Build basic lab fixtures and tools, and give feedback for improvements
Perform routine maintenance on equipment
Perform inspections and measurements of product dimensions using basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometer, depth gauges, feeler gauges, measurement microscope, borescope, etc.)
Document and report quality findings
Qualification
Required
Direct hands-on build experience with mechanical assemblies using technical documentation with strong mechanical aptitude
Experience with fastening operations, bearing presses, and other mechanical assembly processes
Ability to follow formal build instructions and document any deviations from those instructions or requirements
High workmanship standards with attention to detail
Proficient using Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge of drafting standards (read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings) to understand parts and assemblies
Experience using measurement and inspection (calipers, micrometer, depth gauges, feeler gauges, measurement microscope, borescope, etc.)
Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization methods
Experience following all aspects of maintenance safety protocol (LOTO, 5S, Arc Flash, etc.)
Preferred
Associate's Degree, or 5+ years in aerospace (preferred) or automotive industry
Experience using ERP and MES softwares
Experience working with safety critical aerospace components
Experience working in an R&D environment
