Responsibilities
Produce high-quality design drawings, layouts, and documentation using CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
Perform essential engineering calculations, including heat load, power requirements, voltage drop, and cable routing
Maintain and apply CAD standards, templates, title blocks, and layering conventions to ensure every deliverable meets the firm's elite quality benchmarks
Partner closely with Sales, Project Managers, and Technical staff to optimize system layouts, resolve design challenges, and interpret architectural specifications
Conduct site surveys to gather data, validate design assumptions, and support accurate project scoping
Create accurate As-Installed drawings based on field markups to ensure precise project closeout documentation
Actively participate in developing new standards, workflows, and best practices to keep the organization at the forefront of the industry
Qualification
Required
Minimum two-year technical degree in electrical/electronic systems (or related field/equivalent experience)
Must hold (or be eligible to obtain) a State of Texas Security License
Strong proficiency in CAD drafting (layering, blocks, X-references, viewports) and the ability to visualize component interactions in real-world environments
Ability to design integrated physical security systems (Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, Cabling)
Proficiency in interpreting floor plans, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control panel layouts
Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent written/oral communication, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
3+ years in electronic systems design and installation
1+ years specifically using AutoCAD
Experience with Bluebeam and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, Excel, Teams, etc.)
Familiarity with local AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and permitting requirements
