Disabled Veterans Case Manager (DVCM): WorkSource Thurston
NEOGOV is seeking a dedicated, mission-driven professional to serve as a Disabled Veterans Case Manager (DVCM). In this role, you will provide intensive case management and employment services to veterans and eligible spouses facing significant barriers to employment, helping them navigate the workforce effectively.

Responsibilities
Conduct veteran intake, assess employment barriers, and document services in ETO (Efforts to Outcomes)
Develop and maintain individualized employment plans; provide ongoing counseling, motivation, and follow-up
Deliver job readiness support, including vocational guidance, labor market information, and referrals to training and supportive services
Help veterans translate military experience, access grants or programs, and connect to suitable job opportunities
Perform targeted outreach using UCX and other rosters; engage veterans at community events and partner locations
Build and maintain relationships with the VA, VR&E, LVERs, CVSRs, colleges, community agencies, and veteran-serving organizations
Refer veterans to health, housing, education, and counseling resources as needed
Complete required reports, track outcomes, and maintain accurate case documentation
Participate in required training and provide staff education on veteran-related topics
Qualification
Required
One year as a WorkSource Specialist 3 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state's Employment Security agency
A Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or public contact work, such as: unemployment insurance, social services, human resource services, education, public relations, benefits programs, insurance claims, law enforcement and banking OR a combination of education and/or relevant experience
A Master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience

Client-Centered Service Delivery: Needs assessment to evaluate client situations, goal setting to establish realistic objectives, case management to develop and oversee service plans, problem-solving to address barriers, and communication skills to guide and support clients effectively

Client Motivation and Career Planning Expertise: Ability to encourage workforce engagement
Career Coaching and Follow-Up Expertise: Ability to provide ongoing workforce guidance
Stakeholder Engagement Expertise: Ability to collaborate with workforce partners
Workforce Program Improvement Expertise: Ability to structure service enhancements
Preferred
Data Management: Ability to accurately enter and maintain detailed case notes and ensure timely and consistent data entry to support performance reporting and compliance with program standards
Veteran Focused Service Delivery: Ability to provide individualized employment services to eligible veterans, with a focus on those facing significant barriers to employment
Organizational and Time Management: Ability to maintain organized records, schedules, and documentation to ensure efficient service delivery and audit readiness
Selective preference will be accorded to Veterans with first priority given to qualified service-connected disabled Veterans, second to qualified eligible Veterans, and third given to qualified eligible persons as defined by Title 38, USC, Section 4101(5)
