Responsibilities
Receive, accession, label, and log patient specimens into laboratory information systems
Verify specimen integrity, accuracy of labeling, and test requisitions
Prepare specimens for analysis, storage, or shipment to testing departments
Perform centrifugation, aliquoting, and basic specimen preparation as required
Maintain chain-of-custody and follow specimen handling protocols
Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines (CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA)
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory work area
Dispose of biohazard materials according to laboratory procedures
Communicate specimen issues (missing information, damaged samples) to appropriate staff
Qualification
Required
