Responsibilities
Build, integrate, and understand the complete assembly process and requirements for instruments in the production area
Perform functional and release testing on at least one moderately complex instrument
Analyze test data and results to determine pass/fail status and provide corrective solutions
Optimize system performance, including precision of movement and/or light systems, using test data
Identify defects and recommend design or process improvements
Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
Train and support associates in mechanical and testing activities as needed
Process and disposition Quality Notifications (QNs)
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams
Perform material handling for raw materials and sub-assemblies
Complete all work in accordance with specifications, operating procedures, GMP requirements, and company policies
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment through proper housekeeping
Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping policies and procedures
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Work overtime as required to meet business needs
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED with 3.5 years of manufacturing experience, OR Associate's degree (AA) in a technical field with relevant skills
Ability to support testing of moderately complex instruments
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train others
Proven accountability to results and continuous performance improvement
Demonstrated commitment to Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Proficiency with mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, bits, etc.)
Ability to read drawings and accurately interpret measurements and specifications
Strong time management skills across multiple production orders
Ability to adapt to frequent assignment changes
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Understanding and adherence to quality procedures
Proficient in English (reading, writing, basic math, charts, and diagrams)
Basic computer proficiency, including Windows-based systems
Strong math and analytical abilities
Ability to use independent judgment for setup, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
Strong communication and leadership skills
