Responsibilities

Serves as the District's recognized technical expert and as a senior staff level Cost Engineer, providing cost engineering expertise and guidance, higher headquarters' policy interpretation, quality control review for in-house products, and authoritative guidance and quality assurance (QA) review of contractor provided products
Serves as the point of contact and authoritative source of information and advice for both internal and external customers concerning cost engineering matters
Reviews and analyzes cost issues of contract bid protests and contract disputes
Directs cost engineering work involving the preparation of estimates for both civil works and military projects, and the review of estimates prepared by A/E firms

Required

One year of specialized experience which includes: Assisting in the managing and coordinating efforts of design build construction, minor construction, facilities maintenance, or services projects
Manage efforts pertaining to the review and development for any of the following: performance work statement, scope, schedules, budgets, or other standard project management tasks
Candidates must meet the basic education requirement for interdisciplinary engineering job series of 0810 Civil Engineer, 0830 Mechanical Engineer and 0850 Electrical Engineer
Duties of this position requires the incumbent to have one of the following credentials: Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) or Certified Cost Consultant (CCC)
All positions require the applicant to be a citizen of the United States
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 are required to register for the Selective Service prior to appointment
A trial or probationary period may be required
Direct Deposit of pay is required
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time
The incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Financial Disclosure Report upon entering into duty in this position and annually thereafter
This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles
