Responsibilities
Perform motor characterization, battery testing, and JDQ (John Deere Quality) tests; analyze data to ensure products meet stringent specifications
Gather and format test requirements from internal and external customers, providing technical feedback to ensure testability
Employ debugging strategies to determine root causes of failures, working with support from the broader engineering team to resolve issues
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of testing results and schedule progress; communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
Partner with power electronics design teams to ensure testing alignment with quality, delivery, and cost goals
Oversee the performance of power electronic testing performed internally or externally
Qualification
Required
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)
Solid understanding of safe higher-voltage lab practices
Understanding of embedded controllers, motor control system testing, and design validation basics
Strong written and verbal English skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred
Experience with dynos and product development lifecycles
Proficiency with debugging tools like oscilloscopes and multi-meters
Familiarity with communication protocols (J1939, ISO11783, CAN, Ethernet)
Experience with microcontroller peripherals (PWM outputs, A/D converters)
