Funnelpot is a full-service marketing agency that uniquely blends hospitality with digital marketing strategies. They are seeking an experienced SEO & AI Search Strategist to drive organic search growth for restaurant and hospitality brands, focusing on both strategic planning and execution.
Marketing & Advertising
Responsibilities
Own the roadmap: Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies for multi-location restaurant brands
Identify high-intent opportunities (e.g., "private dining near me," "best brunch [city]") and prioritize efforts based on traffic potential, seasonality, and business goals
Ensure organic search efforts directly support revenue drivers, such as table reservations and event bookings
Oversee the optimization of Google Business Profiles for individual locations to ensure maximum visibility
Align on-page signals with local search intent to dominate "Maps," Local Packs, and "Best of" lists
Advise on review management and local citation strategies to boost authority
Plan and optimize content for event pages, location landing pages, and editorial blog content
Write or guide brief creation for SEO-driven content that balances keyword inclusion with a sophisticated brand voice
Ensure content answers user questions quickly to satisfy search intent and drive conversions
Develop strategies to appear in Google AI Overviews (SGE) and conversational search results
Identify where our brands are missing from AI-generated recommendations and adjust schema/content accordingly
Stay on the cutting edge of how users "ask" for recommendations in an AI-first world and pivot strategy as behavior evolves
Use GA4, GSC, and other tools to track organic traffic, but focus reporting on meaningful business signals (conversions, click-to-call, reservations)
Frame SEO impact in clear, non-technical language. Explain •why• traffic changed and •how• it impacts the bottom line
Work with developers, designers, and content teams to implement technical fixes. Provide clear, prioritized instructions rather than dumping 50-page technical audits
Serve as the internal voice of authority on search, educating the team on why specific changes are necessary
Qualification
Required
5–7+ years of SEO experience, with a strong preference for Hospitality, Restaurant, or Local SEO backgrounds
Deep expertise in Local SEO, Google Maps optimization, and managing multi-location hierarchies
Hands-on experience with GA4, Google Search Console, WordPress, and major SEO suites (Semrush, Ahrefs, BrightLocal, etc.)
Proven ability to model search intent (understanding the difference between someone looking for a recipe vs. a reservation)
Ability to work independently and ruthlessly prioritize tasks that drive revenue
Preferred
Experience specifically with restaurant groups or multi-location lifestyle brands
Familiarity with 'Generative Engine Optimization' (GEO) and AI search trends
Background in an agency or hybrid consultant role (used to managing multiple stakeholders)
