The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a Natural Resources Specialist (Ranger) for the Coralville Lake Project. This role involves managing natural resources, overseeing contracts, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while providing recreational opportunities to the public.

Responsibilities
Natural resources management, recreation, visitor assistance, contract administration, environmental stewardship, public outreach, and interpretive services
Preparing various planning documents for assigned program(s), to include the Reservoir Regulation Plan, Emergency Action Plan, Operation and Maintenance Manual, Operational Management Plan (OMP), Master Plan, Project Safety Plan, Fire Prevention Plan, Asset Management, Periodic Assessments/Dam Safety, Shoreline Management Plan (as applicable), and Physical Security Plan
Overseeing the conservation, preservation, restoration and use of all project natural resources
Develops guidelines, standards and procedures for analyzing public needs, demands, site carrying capacities, natural resource and recreation program capabilities
Serving as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) in the preparation and administration of contracts
Contracts include projects for park attendant, custodial, refuse removal, law enforcement, communication systems, supplies and materials, construction/service indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) task orders, and facilities and equipment
The administration and management of all outgranted lands, inspecting outgrants for compliance with terms of environmental regulations to ensure outgrant activities comply with terms of agreed management plans
Enforcing Title 36 CFR Section 327 and local/district policies on all USACE lands and waters, issuing warnings or citations to violators, and attending federal magistrate court as required
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service for GS-09 level applicants, which includes: 1) Assisting in developing natural resource conservation, recreation, and/or environmental plans; 2) Providing project information to local, state, and Federal agencies and/or the visiting public; 3) Assisting with programs designed to protect and further enhance fish, wildlife, vegetative and/or water resources
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service for GS-11 level applicants, which includes: 1) Managing and developing natural resource conservation, recreation, and/or environmental plans; 2) Providing project information to local, state, and Federal agencies and/or the visiting public; 3) Implementing programs designed to protect and further enhance fish, wildlife, vegetative and/or water resources
U.S. Citizenship
Valid state Driver's License
Ability to work nights, weekends and/or holidays
Must possess or able to acquire Title 36 Citation Authority within one year
Physical ability to lift or carry items weighing over 30 pounds
Ability to follow established safe working procedures
Preferred
Experience in natural resources management, recreation, visitor assistance, contract administration, environmental stewardship, public outreach, and interpretive services
