Responsibilities
Distributes petitions, street lists, and election information to interested candidates
Enters all pertinent candidate data into ledger books and candidate database
Proofreads all petitions, ledgers, and candidate databases to ensure accuracy
Forwards sample ballots to each office seeker
Provides assistance in processing absentee ballots by coding pertinent information
Issues and mails candidate certificates
Provides customer service both in-person and by telephone
Serves as a member of the return board by verifying machine counts
May act in the capacity of Regional Center Supervisor the weekend prior to all elections and on election nights
Participates in special projects & performs other duties as requested/required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Must successfully pass a background check, which includes verification of Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status
Working knowledge of the policies and procedures of the election process
Skill in Microsoft Office products
Ability to work overtime and off-hours during election cycles
Ability to follow an elections calendar and meet state-mandated deadlines
Ability to work independently and as a team member with staff and contracted employees
Ability to multi-task effectively
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Residency in Allegheny County within 1 year
