Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and maintains data security
Provides technical support and resources to laboratory staff and other stakeholders
Communicates effectively with IT and laboratory teams to address system needs and improvements
Maintains documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps
Reviews and resolves issues found on daily maintenance and error logs
Participates in performance improvement activities and evaluates new equipment and procedures
Assists with the implementation, testing, and upgrades of LIS hardware and software
Troubleshoots and resolves service desk tickets related to LIS and interfaces
Manages daily operations of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and related interfaces
Monitors system performance and resolves any issues or errors promptly
Develops and provides training programs for laboratory staff on LIS usage and best practices
Coordinates with hospital system teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality
Qualification
Required
Technical skills and aptitudes in Information Systems related aspects of laboratory testing and processes
Ability to read text and numbers in English, and comprehend, measure, calculates, reason, match and problem solve
Ability to learn, validate, implement, train, and apply computer related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices
Ability to exercise mature professional judgment under a minimum degree of direct supervision and the ability to handle confidential information within Advent Health guidelines and applicable regulations
Ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities and projects
Creative, self-directed, with initiative to develop and implement new programs or processes
Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with persons of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective and professional manner
2+ experience in lis
3+ experience in a hospital clinical laboratory setting
Preferred
Associate
2+ post-secondary education in management, business, information technology or healthcare related field
