Write and oversee test plans to evaluate new materials for production use
Create and maintain composite material and process specifications
Review engineering Build-To-Print Drawings

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry, or related technical major
Familiar with composite material components such as carbon and glass fibers and fabrics and resins
Familiar with machining techniques such as drilling, routing and water jet
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Preferred

Familiar with Raw Material Processing such as fiber production and prepregging techniques
Demonstrated ability with composite processes such as wet lay-up and hand lay-up with prepreg
Familiar with advanced tape lay-up, fiber placement, structural adhesives and core materials
Familiar with composite industry specifications or databases such as Composite Materials Handbook 17
Basic knowledge in the field of Polymer Chemistry
