Start in 2026 SummerGeneral Dynamics Electric Boat is offering an 8-week paid internship for high school students interested in Carpentry at their Groton facility. This program provides students with hands-on experience and technical knowledge within the shipbuilding industry, under the guidance of trained mentors.

Work under the guidance of a trained mentor from their respective union
Learn to use various tools and techniques essential to carpentry in shipyard operations
Observe production processes and interact with skilled employees in the carpentry department
Qualification
Required
Must complete your junior year of high school by June 2026
Must be 16 years of age or older
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Interns will become employees of Electric Boat and union members for the duration of their summer internship
Must meet Electric Boat employment requirements, including medical screening and a hair follicle drug test
Must be available to work eight consecutive weeks; June 29, 2026 - August 21, 2026
Preferred
Enrolled in a Technical Education Program At School – CTHSS Policy
