Akkodis is seeking a Data Analyst for a Contract job with a client in West Des Moines, IA. The ideal candidate will perform advanced data analysis and utilize BI tools to support reporting and insights, focusing on insurance workflows and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced data analysis using SQL and Excel to support reporting and insights
Work with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to visualize data and create dashboards
Analyze insurance workflows including Policy, Claims, and Underwriting processes
Interpret risk concepts such as exposure, trends, and early warning indicators to generate meaningful insights
Work hands‑on with Data Warehouse concepts, including star schema design, fact tables, and dimension tables
Utilize AWS data analytics services for data processing, transformation, and analysis
Perform data modeling and apply normalization/denormalization techniques
Identify data patterns and convert them into actionable business insights

Required

6–8 years of relevant experience
Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel
Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
Knowledge of insurance domain, including Policy, Claims, Underwriting
Understanding of risk analysis concepts
Hands‑on experience with Data Warehousing, including star schema and fact/dimension modeling
Knowledge of AWS services related to analytics
Experience with data modeling and normalization/denormalization

Preferred

Knowledge of Agile and tools like JIRA and Jenkins
