Responsibilities

Create and manage electronic forms (Softdocs)
Serve as backup in maintaining CMU’s Degree Audit System (Degree Works), including updating approved changes to program requirements and course prerequisites, troubleshooting problems, and testing upgrades
Manage uploads and downloads between CMU and external third-party partners. Provide monthly submissions to National Student Clearinghouse enrollment division
Ensure system upgrades and patches to systems like Banner do not disrupt Registrar’s Office processes. Advise staff and campus departments of updates and implications
Support various Registrar Office systems, such as Banner, Xtender, and SoftDocs
Create and maintain documentation of processes
Coordinates reports for the Registrar’s Office, which includes creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting reports. Collaborate with Institutional Research when needed
Demonstrates understanding of institutional and external data, as well as data-driven principles related to the institution’s strategic plan, mission, and values
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing and implementing data-driven process improvements
Collaborate with campus departments to develop and monitor process improvement initiatives
Provide high-level customer service by independently handling routine inquiries and resolving complaints
Maintain current knowledge of all functions of the Registrar’s Office and support front counter duties when needed
Maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the Registrar’s Office systems
Timely resolution of system issues
Accuracy of data processing
Implementation of process improvements
Quality of customer service provided to other staff, students, and other campus stakeholders

Required

An earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution OR an Associate degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of three years of technical-related experience
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Able to implement computing-based solutions to Registrar issues
Progressing toward proficiency in database management, project management, and troubleshooting systems
Developing skills in data analysis and process improvement methodologies
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Excellent communication skills, capable of working with campus departments, students, and external partners
Willingness to develop skills to offer guidance to staff and stakeholders on systems and processes
Interest in delivering presentations and training materials to both internal and external audiences
Detail oriented
Understanding of fundamental computer programming concepts and applications
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Must demonstrate desire to learn new software systems
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing
Must be able to deal diplomatically and professionally with people

Preferred

Knowledge of JavaScript, SQL, Power BI, and Power Query
Knowledge of Ellucian Banner, Degree Works, and Softdocs eForms
Experience in higher education or related professional environment
High level of computer skills with various software systems
Experience with COGNOS or similar data analytics tools
