Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage a holistic SEO strategy that scales across 180+ countries and all of our product categories (Vitamins, Supplements, Sports Nutrition, Beauty, etc.)
Lead the optimization efforts across all of our supported languages (currently localizing for 36+ languages), ensuring maximum relevance and visibility in regional search engines like Google, Naver (Korea), and others relevant and emerging search engines
Oversee complex international technical SEO elements, including hreflang implementation, locale-aware site architecture, and regional link building
Conduct deep dives into high-priority markets (e.g., Japan, South Korea, MENA, Europe) to uncover country-specific search behavior, competitor tactics, and new keyword opportunities, working closely with regional marketing teams
Develop pioneering strategies for search visibility in the age of Generative AI (Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, CoPilot, etc) to ensure iHerb’s content is consistently cited as a leading authoritative source in the health and wellness space
Work hand-in-hand with our Engineering and Content teams to implement advanced semantic SEO, schema markup, and structured data that maximizes our presence in rich results, knowledge graphs, and LLM training data
Establish content guidelines that position iHerb’s product information, blog (Wellness Hub), and reviews as industry-leading, trustworthy, and factually rigorous to capture high-intent, health-related traffic
Own and execute the technical SEO roadmap, driving improvements in site performance, crawl budget efficiency, indexing across millions of localized URLs, and mobile-first optimization
Partner directly with Product Managers and Engineers to translate SEO requirements into deployable technical solutions for our massive-scale e-commerce platform and product data feeds
Identify and automate repeatable SEO processes, monitoring, and reporting to ensure a high-leverage model that supports exponential international growth

Required

Proven ability to develop and execute technical SEO strategies for sites with millions of pages/SKUs
Deep expertise in common SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMRush, Google Analytics)
Demonstrated experience with localization challenges (Hreflang, CC-TLDs, content translation vs. transcreation)
Strong understanding of how AI and LLMs are changing search behavior and demonstrable experience or passion for positioning a brand for the future of AI search
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business strategies for non-technical stakeholders
Strong leadership, communication, and global stakeholder management skills
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
5+ years of experience in Search Engine Optimization, with a minimum of 2 years focused on large-scale international/multilingual e-commerce SEO
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
