HR Generalist II- HRD Division, El Paso

Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an enthusiastic HR professional to join their team as an HR Generalist II. In this role, you will support a variety of HR functions including employee relations, benefits management, recruitment, and training while contributing to impactful HR programs and initiatives.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Enters, maintains, and coordinates data such as applicant, salary, and benefits transactions using a Human Resources Information Management System (PeopleSoft)
Participates in hiring program activities, including, but not limited to, managing job openings, screening employment applications, assisting in interviewing, and facilitating the hiring process
Participates in quality review activities for human resources programs
Interprets human resources policies and procedures and pertinent state/federal rules and regulations with guidance from Supervisor or Lead Worker
Responds to inquiries and complaints regarding human resources policies and procedures
Reviews various legal and administrative documents
Responds to and processes requests and inquiries from employees for various human resources activities and programs
Provides guidance to management on sensitive issues in areas such as substance abuse and employee discipline
Review and manage routine and complex medical-related employee needs, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Keeps abreast of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
1 year human resources-related experience
Valid driver's license
