ACTA - Program Manager

CA For The Arts is seeking a Program Manager to join their statewide program team. The Program Manager will develop and support public programs in collaboration with artists and community partners, focusing on events such as festivals and workshops, while also providing technical assistance and coordinating fieldwork in Fresno.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships with Fresno artists, cultural leaders, and community organizations
Provide individualized technical assistance, grant advising, and fiscal sponsorship coaching
Plan and implement Fresno-based programming, including a new folklife festival
Coordinate public events, workshops, cultural asset mapping, and concerts
Convene quarterly meetings of a local folklife advisory group
Support media documentation, storytelling, and public communication about ACTA’s work

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable professional experience
Minimum three years of experience in community-based arts, community organizing, public folklore, applied anthropology, or related work
Deep commitment to ACTA's mission, cultural equity, and social justice
Clear communication skills across writing, speaking, facilitation, and relationship-building
Experience with event production, media documentation, and project organization
Familiarity with California's cultural landscape and experience with BIPOC, multilingual, and under-resourced communities

Preferred

Spanish or another Central Valley language is a plus; lived experience as a culture bearer is highly valued
