Mobile Maternal Care and Training Program Coordinator

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a dedicated public health professional with program implementation and maternal-child health program experience to support their Mobile Maternal Care and Training rural health initiative. The role involves managing mobile health clinics, providing technical assistance, and coordinating statewide data collection to enhance perinatal and obstetric care.

Responsibilities

Identify local/tribal health departments (L/THDs) that have high capacity and need to pilot Mom and Baby Mobile Health Clinics and develop subawards to implement Mobile Health Clinics across Nebraska
Assess the capacity to provide prenatal/postpartum care and obstetric readiness/training needs in facilities and build relationships with hospitals and local health departments to encourage use of training/capacity building efforts
Manage subawards and contracts to increase prenatal/postpartum and obstetric (OB) service readiness
Provide technical assistance to LHDs and hospitals as needed. Connect facilities to current evidence-based practices
Participate in trainings and conferences to learn more about the viability of additional mobile solutions such as telemedicine, virtual visits and remote monitoring
Plan and coordinate statewide data collection and continuous quality improvement efforts for building statewide capacity for perinatal and OB care. Use data to inform sustainability planning

Required

Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community based health/social care groups
Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for year basis
Knowledge of basic accounting and business administration; social work and management theory; the structure of organizations; state, local and federal laws and programs relating to social service programs; available funding sources; human dynamics; learning/teaching techniques
Ability to relate well with a diverse number of individuals or organizations; analyze community's present needs and recommend programs to achieve desired results; work with people in a variety of roles (leadership, cooperation, education, networking)
Skill in persuading others to adopt programs; presenting information to groups or individuals in oral or written form; problem solving; prioritizing; goal setting; conflict resolution

Preferred

Quality improvement experience with clinics/hospitals
Program experience with maternal-child-health programs such as home visiting or with WIC or as a health educator
