Responsibilities
Design concrete formwork and falsework systems for bridge construction projects
Develop detailed falsework and overhang designs using AutoCAD
Perform rigorous structural calculations using MathCAD to verify safety and compliance
Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates during pre-bid and construction phases
Ensure all designs meet PennDOT specifications, standards, and design manuals
Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to develop effective engineering solutions
Review, approve, and stamp engineering drawings as a licensed Pennsylvania PE
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams
Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Pennsylvania
Minimum of 3–5 years of structural engineering experience
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and MathCAD
Solid understanding of structural analysis and design principles
Experience with material takeoffs and construction estimating
In-depth knowledge of PennDOT standards and regulations
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex engineering challenges
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
Preferred
Experience with bridge falsework or heavy highway construction strongly preferred
