PATIENT SVC FACILITATOR - Full Time

Responsibilities
In the absence of the assigned Patient Services Representative, responsible for completion of all duties
Cooperate in the cross-training of this position to ensure adequate coverage at all times; cooperate in being cross-trained to another position to ensure coverage at all times
Assume responsibility to travel between departments and facilities to assist in coverage as required
Schedule new and established patients according to the approved Clinic guidelines of each practitioner and the appointment scheduling policies and procedures
Verify patient information following patient registration criteria and inform patients of payment responsibility. Make return appointments for patients within the scheduling guidelines. Cancel and reschedule patients as needed
Take messages for the office staff and providers as requested and when appropriate (per policy). Route messages according to procedure
Request charts from the Medical Records Department for same-day appointments
Assist supervisors as needed with varies office duties. May travel between departments and facilities to assist in coverage as required
Verify and update patient information following patient registration criteria; obtain copies of insurance card. Make corrections into computer immediately
Collect payments and inform patients of payment responsibility according to Business Office guidelines. Balance and deposit payments on daily basis
Make return appointments for patients within the scheduling guidelines. Cancel and reschedule patients as needed. Follow check-in protocol. Prepare charts according to office procedure
Greets patients and ensures all patients have been registered properly and all patient information is updated and entered directly into the computer and any necessary forms have been completely filled out
Orients new patients to the Clinic. Informs patients of Riverside Medical Clinic’s financial polices. Obtains copies of insurance cards and completed assignment forms. Enters information immediately
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
Typing, general clerical skills, and excellent telephone skills
Medical terminology and two years medical office experience required
