Communications Field Supervisor
EnerStar Solutions provides customized rental and service solutions for all industries. The Communications Field Supervisor oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of communication systems while managing a team of technicians to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

Responsibilities
Prioritize safety in all tasks and comply with company and client safety protocols
Champion EnerStar Core Values in all professional activities
Provide technical leadership and oversee daily communications operations
Dispatch communications technicians to job sites as required
Provide field support as needed (rig-ups, rig-downs, equipment moves, etc.)
Support and train communications technicians, including field-based training
Assist technicians with installation, testing, and troubleshooting of communications systems
Provide customer support for technical issues related to housing, satellite, internet, cameras, and other communications equipment
Work with internal Housing and Power Generation groups to schedule and support Communications activities
Coordinate with vendors to ensure communications equipment is maintained, updated, and in good working order
Maintain and stock communications equipment and consumables
Oversee and help develop LTE, satellite, and remote monitoring solutions and technologies
Interface with Engineering for R&D initiatives, site demonstrations, and deployment of new technologies
Lead new technology planning, roadmap development, and prototype build/testing
Generate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Generate and review Field Cap tickets and communications reports
Utilize software tools to track technician hours, PTO, and inventory
Conduct technician performance reviews, including vacation approvals and pay raise recommendations
Monitor technician driving behavior and vehicle location, participate in safety reviews
Assist with new business development and interface with EnerStar management across Power Generation, Housing, Trucking, and Head Office
Keep upper management informed of Communications Group activities, including schedules, customer issues, and staffing
Attend District Management meetings
Participate in other relevant tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of communication systems, such as IT, telecommunications, and radio networks
Manages a team of technicians, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards
Coordinates field activities, troubleshooting complex issues, and maintaining accurate records of all operations
Ensures compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards
Provides leadership, training, and support to their team
Liaises with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met and to address any concerns that arise in the field

Able and willing to travel as required by EnerStar Solutions
Frequent lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, climbing, walking, and standing for extended periods, as well as working in confined spaces
Candidates must be physically capable of safely performing these duties
Candidates must be medically fit to perform physically demanding tasks in varying environmental conditions
Pre-employment and periodic medical evaluations may be required
Work is often performed outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, with regular exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental factors
Minimum 4 + years of progressive experience as a Communications Technician or in a related role
Demonstrated leadership ability and the capability to lead and support a team of technicians
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage customer support issues in real time with professionalism
Consistently maintain a professional demeanor
Proficiency with common computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Technical skills in telecommunications, networking, and cable installation
Ability to fabricate and terminate RJ-45, coaxial, LMR240, and LMR400 cables and connectors
Ability to learn to configure, deploy, and support satellite-based internet systems
Ability to learn to configure, deploy, and support local area networks (LANs)
Ability to configure, deploy, and support PTZ network camera systems
Ability to repair electronic equipment is considered an asset
Ability to use signal-finding tools to optimize antenna positioning and signal strength
Preferred
Associates Degree preferred in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering)
Technical Certifications in networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+), telecommunications, or electronics
