Responsibilities
Manage the mechanical engineering teams. You will be the hardware architect, ensuring robust designs that survive extreme environments
Partner with the engineering and product leaders to define hardware/software interfaces and ensure engineering outputs align with customer requirements
In coordination with the Program Management, you will implement structured hardware development milestones (design reviews, PDR/CDR, and validation testing) to ensure on-time delivery
Provide deep technical guidance in SolidWorks design, PCB layout strategy, and material selection
Ensure the hardware team designs for high-volume assembly and works aggressively with the Supply Chain team on "Design to Cost" initiatives
PDM implementation
Qualification
Required
12+ years in hardware development, with at least 5 years in an engineering leadership role
Proven history of shipping complex products involving motors, gears, PCBs, and ruggedized enclosures
Ability to converse fluently with software teams about firmware/hardware integration while keeping a firm grip on mechanical physics
Expert-level understanding of SolidWorks and a strong grasp of PCB design workflows (Altium, KiCad, etc.)
B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics
