Responsibilities
The Environmental Engineer Intern uses engineering principles to perform calculations and data analysis to determine and summarize the various air/water emissions which are required for reporting, while ensuring regulatory compliance for public health and sustainability associated with direct reduction plants as well as other new technology initiatives
The internship will consist of proposal and project-based assignments to broaden learning, experience, organizational knowledge, and business acumen
Ability to work on a variety of real-world impact proposals and projects based on the specific discipline being pursued
Work in accordance with the Midrex Code of Ethics and ISO requirements
Work as a team player with company employees on assignments
Work toward building consensus on assignments by findings solutions which meet the best interests of all parties involved
Perform and document process calculations, and conduct data analysis associated with environmental air and water emissions
Review vendor documents and documents from other disciplines
Contribute to the evaluation of existing and new process designs, keeping safety in mind
Assist with plant contract proposal preparation
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to learn modern technology, software and tools including analysis software
Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communication skills
Excellent base of chemical engineering technical skills and knowledge of processes
Ability to meet schedule and deliverable deadlines
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
