Ocean Import Customer Service Agent

The Ocean Import Customer Service Agent is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate movement of freight and information while maintaining excellent customer interactions and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
Track and Trace Ocean Import Files
Ensure documents are sent timely to customer or broker for customs purposes
Ensure accurate and timely client and vendors billing and accounting compliance
Exceptional customer service interactions with our customers in arranging their international shipments, meeting customer service standards
Contribute to maintaining good relationships with suppliers (Shipping lines, trucking companies and others involved)
Meet compliance at all times of regulations, internal and external, in accordance with government regulations
Understand department process flow, and looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity
Ensure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in customer SOP
Meet KPI standards in accordance with the Company’s procedures
Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)
Escalation of problems to Management when necessary
Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride
Meets company standards of 52 hours training per year per employee
Attend mandatory training classes when required

Qualification
Required
High School Degree or equivalent required
Successful candidates must pass a background check
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department's needs
Must be able to commute to the city of Hawthorne, CA
Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
Comfortable working in a professional business environment
Preferred
Associates or Undergraduate Degree Preferred
Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)
Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
Demonstrated ability to be proactive in thought and action
Strong organizational skills
Analytical with a strong attention to detail
Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
