Summer Intern
The State Bar of California is seeking college or graduate students for their Summer 2026 Internship in the Office of Professional Competence. Interns will engage in research, program development, and learn about the regulatory requirements of the legal profession to protect the public.

Responsibilities
Support the State Bar’s regulatory mission by advancing attorney competency and professional responsibility through policy development and preventative education
Translate ethics guidance and regulatory priorities into practical, accessible education for attorneys
Support education and compliance efforts related to Minimum Continuing Legal Education and attorney assistance initiatives focused on prevention and early identification of risk
Engage in research, curriculum development, data analysis, and process improvement to promote professionalism and protect the public
Qualification
Required
College or graduate student
Interest in learning about the legal profession and regulatory requirements
Exposure to research, program development, accounting, and laws governing the legal profession
