Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager position is focused on overseeing and executing all aspects of work related to procurement of inventory parts, raw materials, supplies, equipment and services, while developing and implementing cost-effective purchasing strategies.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement purchasing strategies
Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising and training staff, and allocating tasks
Develop and manage supplier relations, negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, etc
Manage all purchase orders and administer procurement of all goods and services
Identify and obtain quotations from selected source
Control costs of purchase materials and ensure achievement of budgetary targets
Collaborate with engineering and sales team to address various supplier issues
Analyze current inventory to reduce carry costs
Ensure orders are acknowledged correctly, and that any notes of delays, backorders, and other relevant information are communicated to the applicable department
Work with AP to resolve invoicing and coding issues
Create work orders for manufactured inventory items
Plan raw material levels to meet manufacturing needs
Continuous improvement of purchasing processes
Comply with and promote LEAN and 5S methodologies
Work with Part Sales to maintain proper inventory levels and re-order quantities
Coordinate with Global Suppliers to reduce transportation costs while meeting customer delivery expectations
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

Required

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or similar field is required
5 years professional experience related to purchasing
Must have excellent leadership abilities
Proficient with Microsoft Office, ERP system experience a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and accuracy is a must have; strong analytical mindset, problem solving skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience with equipment manufacturing and machine part
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
The position requires a candidate that thrives on challenges and is driven by the need to succeed and the desire to create and realize new opportunities
Position may require occasional international travel to Haarslev Global Headquarters, engineering facilities or manufacturing sites
