Shipping Specialist

Grace Technologies is seeking a Shipping Specialist to manage outgoing shipments and ensure customer orders are processed accurately, safely, and on time. This role involves handling domestic and dangerous goods shipments while adhering to regulatory compliance and company procedures.

Responsibilities

Prepare, package, and ship customer orders with a high degree of accuracy
Process shipments using carrier systems such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight providers
Verify part numbers, quantities, and product condition prior to shipment
Ensure packaging meets product, carrier, and regulatory requirements
Assist with dangerous goods shipments in compliance with DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
Handle shipments containing lithium batteries in accordance with regulatory standards
Complete DG documentation, labeling, and declarations accurately
Maintain DG shipping records and support compliance efforts
Prepare customs documentation, including commercial invoices, declarations, and certificates of origin
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international carriers
Ensure all international shipments meet regulatory and documentation requirements
Maintain accurate shipping logs, tracking information, and shipment records
Communicate with internal teams (Production, Customer Service, Sales) regarding order status
Monitor and restock shipping supplies as needed
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth order flow

Required

2+ years of experience in shipping or logistics
Experience with lithium battery shipments
Familiarity with dangerous goods shipping (DG certification is a plus, but not required)
Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs processes
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspecting parts before shipment
Strong communication skills; able to work effectively with multiple departments
Proficiency with carrier software (UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, DHL, etc.)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred

DG/HazMat certification (IATA, DOT, IMDG)
Experience with LTL freight scheduling
Knowledge of USMCA/NAFTA documentation
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Epicor, etc.)
