Responsibilities
Provide clinical and administrative leadership for behavioral health nursing units
Support the CNO in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care delivery and performance metrics
Oversee staff competency, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives
Promote evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices aligned with hospital standards and patient safety protocols
Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation to optimize patient care and efficiency
Foster interdisciplinary collaboration between nursing, psychiatry, social work, and ancillary departments
Monitor compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations
Act as a clinical role model, mentor, and advocate for nursing professionalism and patient-centered care
Lead quality improvement projects focused on behavioral health safety, patient experience, and outcomes
Participate in strategic planning and hospital-wide initiatives as part of the nursing leadership team
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or BSN required
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related healthcare discipline required
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts
Minimum 2 years of progressive hospital management experience (Manager or Director level)
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing required
CPR Certification required
Proven leadership and staff management abilities
Strong knowledge of psychiatric care standards and safety protocols
Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, high-acuity environment
Preferred
Additional behavioral health or leadership certifications (e.g., PMH-BC, ANCC)
