Responsibilities
Serve as lead Florida counsel for all debt defense lawsuits including but not limited to merchant cash advance and credit card lawsuit defense matters
Oversee, manage, and work with support staff for each Florida case from inception to resolution
Handle all court appearances, hearings, mediations, and depositions as needed
Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
Provide strategic case direction and collaborate with the Arizona/New York partners
Ensure compliance with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and applicable debt collection laws
Maintain proactive client communication and manage expectations
Communicate with prospective clients via consultations
Qualification
Required
Active and in good standing license to practice law in Florida
Minimum 1+ years of litigation experience, preferably in consumer debt defense, commercial litigation, or creditor-debtor disputes
Strong courtroom presence and proven experience handling hearings and motions
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Comfortable overseeing multiple cases simultaneously
Preferred
Prior representation in merchant cash advance or credit card lawsuit defense cases
Experience negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions
Familiarity with creditor rights, debt collection practices, and Florida-specific defenses
