Responsibilities
Participate in the design and the translation existing UI functionality and business requirements into modern, responsive React components that maintain function parity with the legacy system
Develop, and maintain React-based user interfaces to replace legacy JSP/TagLib pages
Work closely with backend engineers to integrate React applications with RESTful APIs
Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions
Ensure UI implementations meet usability, performance, and accessibility standards
Collaborate with QA and business stakeholders to support testing and defect resolution
Qualification
Required
US Citizenship or Green Card
2+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using React
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including experience with type definitions and interfaces for complex data structures
Deep understanding of modern React hooks and state management (e.g., Redux, Context API, or TanStack Query)
Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
Experience building responsive and accessible web user interfaces
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and front-end-backend integration
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative engineering team
Preferred
Experience migrating or modernizing legacy web applications
Familiarity with JSP/TagLib, or experience working with legacy Java-based UIs
Working knowledge of Java, Spring MVC, or enterprise Java applications
Knowledge of US federal accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG 2.x)
Experience with automated UI testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
Prior experience working on federal government contract is a plus
