Responsibilities

Plans, directs, and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments
Conducts experimental research on endocrine and metabolic factors generated from adipose tissue that govern energy balance
Designs one or more specific phases of projects
Uses a combination of genetic mouse models, flow cytometry, and cell culture to explore fundamental mechanisms of energy balance in preclinical models of obesity
Publishes manuscripts as lead author
Evaluates and analyzes data
Establishes new research protocols and procedures
Summarizes research findings and publishes results in research journals
Publishes manuscripts as lead author
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required

MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field
