Responsibilities
Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through completion, including defining project scope and deliverables
Develop, track, and maintain project schedules and budgets
Control project spending and provide accurate cost forecasts
Identify project staffing needs and coordinate with departmental leaders
Oversee design development, documentation, and preparation of bid packages
Assign tasks and oversee technical work performed by project staff
Review designs to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements
Coordinate technical activities across departments to resolve design and testing challenges
Approve design modifications and related technical documentation
Prepare and deliver project status updates and final reports
Communicate progress and issues to project teams, leadership, and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably within the food industry
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
Ability to work onsite in Lithonia, GA, with up to 10% travel to other plants or vendor sites
Preferred
Experience with systems and equipment such as: air handling, dust control, raw and finished material handling, warehousing and storage racks, electrical power and controls, flooring, conveyors, fire protection, barcoding/labeling, utilities, packaging equipment, structural components, lighting, HVAC, mixing equipment, metal detection, check‑weighing, and plant renovations
Experience managing projects ranging from $10,000 to $1 million
Experience working with plant budgets from $40,000 to $1.8 million
Strong background in contractor management and technical integration
Familiarity with PLC systems and automation in manufacturing environments
