Responsibilities
Prepare relevant journal entries timely and accurately to meet accounting close schedules
Analyze complex transactions (e.g., home/land inventory budget updates and evaluation of adequacy of contingencies, construction loan fundings and repayment requirements, joint land development arrangements) and propose adjusting journal entries
Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with accurate support for key account areas of the financial statements (e.g., cash, work-in-process or development-in-process inventory, deposits)
Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports
Process vendor invoices and payments timely and accurately
Coordinate with vendors to obtain documentation required for vendor setup to ensure data integrity and prevent cyber fraud
Respond to ad hoc information requests from builder/land management teams
Assist with internal and external audits
Assist in automation efforts and take the lead in automation of projects directly related to job responsibilities
Manage and prioritize work effectively to meet multiple processing and reporting deadlines related to vendor payments, accounting close, external financial reporting, and internal management reporting
Qualification
Required
BS degree in Accounting/Finance
1+ year experience in accounting
Excellent time management and organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel
Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective communication with management
